Chad R. Diehl, Ph.D.
Chad is a scholar of Japan specializing in twentieth-century history, literature, and visual culture. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University in New York in 2011. He has published three books, including a monograph, edited volume, and collection of translated poetry, and several articles in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. His work has also appeared in popular publications such as TIME magazine. He is currently writing a book about the influence of Christian world views and social thought in the democratization process of Japan after the Second World War.
